How it works
- Each employee's gratuity is 15/26 of their last monthly basic + DA for every year of service - the same formula as our single gratuity calculator. A final part-year of more than six months counts as a full year.
- Regular employees qualify after 5 years of continuous service; fixed-term employees after 1 year under the Code on Social Security, in force from 21 November 2025. See what gratuity is in our glossary.
- Each person is capped at ₹20 lakh, and under the 50% wage rule basic + DA cannot be less than half of total pay.
- Payable if exit today: what is owed to each eligible person if they left on the as-of date; people not yet eligible show ₹0. Accrued estimate: the formula value for service so far, eligible or not, for a simple provision estimate.
- This is a simple estimate from the formula, not an actuarial valuation for your accounts.
